Dear Walking Horse enthusiast,
My anme is Russ Thompson and I am asking you to support me as the California representative of the National Board of Directors for the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Association (TWHBEA).
I have been an active member of the TWHBEA for 33 years. During this time I have served on the National Board four terms. I have served on the Pleasure Horse Committee, the Show Horse Committee, and the Marketing Committee. I currently serve on both the Pleasure Horse and the Marketing Committees.
I can honestly say that I love and appreciate all aspects of the Tennessee Walking Horse. I currently own and ride trail horses as well as flat shod and performance show horses. Since the beginning of my involvement with the Tennessee Walking HorseI have supported, promoted and represented every segment of this industry.
It is no secret that our gret horse is under attack by those that have no knowledge or understanding of our breed. It is also no secret that there is a division even within the ranks of our industry. During these troubled times we need a strong voice that will stand up and fight for our horse and the owners who love them. Whether you are an owner who only trail rides or you are an owner who only loves to show, you need a fair representation.
My reason for running for this position is fairly simple. I truly believe that in this time of turmoil and change I can be a balancing force between all factions and segments of the Walking Horse industry. I am not interested in promoting the agenda of any other organization. I am not interested in supporting goals and agendas that do not enhance the value of the Tennessee Walking Horse. However, I am interested in doing whatever it takes to promote all facets of this great horse and proving to the world how wonderful it is. I believe that the Tennessee Walking Horse is the greatest horse on the face of this planet and I will argue that point with my last breath.
I am not a politician. I am not a college professor. However, I AM a lover of the Tennessee Walking Horse and as you California director I will be YOUR voice. I will attend all meetings and voice the concerns of the California walking horse owners. My door is always open and I am just a phone call away. Thank you for your consideration of me.
