A little about myself:I was born in Waco, Texas and grew up there. I attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas and earned my BBA degree in Management and Finance there.
Like many of you, I truly believe that I was born with horses in my blood! My grandparents lived right outside Waco and they always had ponies for the grandchildren, so that’s where I first experienced that wonderful “smell” of a horse. As a teenager and young adult came grade quarter horses and lots of trail riding.
In the early 70’s, I happened to attend the Waco Charity Horse Show and saw the Tennessee Walking horse for the first time and fell in love! I have had walking horses now for 32 years, and thru them, found my other love, my husband Wink. We have our barn in Longview, where we own several broodmares and show horses. We also have a breeding stallion, Hard Texas Cash, who stands at Womack Stables in Murfreesboro, TN.
I have previously served on the board of directors from the state of Texas to TWHBEA in the early 1980’s and then again in the 1990’s.
I would like to see the TWHBEA rebuild honest, working relationships with all of the various industry organizations. I feel their focus should be on maintaining the registry, programs that serve all of their members, and promoting all Tennessee Walking Horses.
