Years in the Industry? 14
Why do you want to serve on the TWHBEA National Board? To make the TWHBEA what it use to be, a breed registery, and promote the Tennessee Walking Horse and IPEDS.
A little about myself: I am married to trainer Stan Urad who has trained TN Walking Horses for 28 years in Texas. We have been married for 13+ years. I grew up with American Saddlebreds and changed over the Walking Horses after Stan and I got
together. I have been active in Texas with the youth program. We are mainly an amateur/youth barn with kids ranging from age 5 up. We compete in Texas, LA, as well as at the International and Celebration.
I am activately involved in Texas with the Big D Charity Horse Show which features TN Walking Horses, Racking Horses and Saddlebreds. I have been on the Board of Directors for 15+ years as well as serving as President and currently Treasure. I have been on the Southwest Walking Horse Breeders Association (SWHBA) Board of Directors for 10+ years and am currently
serving as President for the second term. We have taken over the Southwest Futurity which use to be a TWHBEA Regional Futurity. However, due to not affiliating with the TWHBEA HIO, we have taken it under the NHSC with the State Fair of Texas Horse Show. I am also on the WHOA Youth Board of Directors. When not doing the horses, I own an Independent Insurance Agency in Rockwall, TX which specializes in Personal and Farm/Ranch and Commercial Insurance. I have two children, Brandon Urad who is attending his first year
of college and Jennifer who is a senior in high school. Both are activitally involved with showing and helping when needed at the barn.
I currently represent the people in Texas thru the SWHBA, Big D Horse Show as well as the SWHBA holding a youth playday and a WHOA Versitality Show. I believe in Free The Breeders as we must work on unification, TWHBEA in my opinion needs to be for registrations as well as promoting the Tennessee Walking Horse in all aspects from trail riding, acadamy programs, flat shod and the performance horse. The IPEDS program was a great feature which needs to again be utilized for it's intended purpose.
Other Comments: I would like to see more unification between all the Associations where everyone works together for the betterment of our industry, as well as the future of our Tennesee Walking Horse. And your votes will be appreciated.
