Years in the Industry? 10
Why do you want to serve on the TWHBEA National Board? Tennessee Walking Horses are a family passion. We live in Rockingham County, just north of the city of Harrisonburg, on a small farm where we breed, raise and ride horses. Happily married for 16 years to my high school sweetheart, CM, we have one daughter, Lindsay, who is 12 years old. Although my husband had grown up around walking horses, I was only introduced shortly after our daughter was born. Within the first 60 days, we owned our first horse and we were trail riding EVERY weekend.
It wasn’t long before we expanded our herd and we began hauling our pleasure horses to local shows. Becoming more and more interested, I served as President of the Shenandoah Valley Horsemen’s Association as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Walking Horse Association. Our family currently owns 20 horses and enjoys raising babies, trail riding and the show ring as well.
As a breeder, I am committed to see that TWHBEA’s primary objective is to be our breed registry and promote ALL aspects of this great horse. It is the duty of our elected leadership to represent their constituents to the best of their ability. It’s time to put aside personal agendas and promote our breed and the many facets in which they are enjoyed.
Other Comments: My desire is to be part of a change for the better. I’m often heard saying, “don’t forget where you came from”. I use this as a guiding force in my life and my business. It helps me remember where I’ve been, where I’m going and how I got here in the first place. It’s with that attitude in which I would serve the great folks of Virginia if elected. Thank you for you consideration.
